Sightline Privacy Policy

Sightline does not upload your scripts, recordings, or camera content. Anonymous product analytics and optional ad measurement may leave the device. Purchases are verified through Apple and RevenueCat.

Overview

Sightline Teleprompter ("Sightline") is a creator camera app for iPhone built by Fierro Innovations. This policy explains what data the app handles and what leaves your device.

Sightline is designed to work without an account. Your scripts and app settings are stored locally on your iPhone.

What we do not collect

Sightline does not upload, store, or receive your scripts, teleprompter text, video recordings, audio, or photos on our servers.

When you Keep a recording, it goes to your Photos library on your device because you chose to save it. Discarded takes are not saved. We do not receive a copy either way.

We do not require your name, email address, or phone number to use the app.

Data stored on your device

Scripts, teleprompter settings, HUD layout, onboarding progress, and free-tier Keep usage flags are saved locally using iOS storage (UserDefaults) and, for a stable anonymous install id, the Keychain.

Camera and microphone access are used only to record video while you use the camera screen. Photos permission is requested only when you Keep a recording.

Script text and media content are not transmitted to Fierro Innovations.

Product analytics

Sightline may send anonymous product events (for example: app opened, onboarding completed, recording started, Keep completed, paywall viewed) to our analytics backend hosted on Supabase.

Events are tied to a random install identifier and session identifier — not to your name, email, or Apple ID. We do not attach script text, file paths, or media to these events.

You can use Sightline's core recording features without creating an account. Analytics soft-fail if the network is unavailable.

Advertising measurement (optional)

Sightline may use the Meta (Facebook) SDK for limited app events used to measure ad performance (for example: completed onboarding, paywall viewed, first saved video).

Purchase completion for Sightline Pro is sent to Meta through RevenueCat's server-side Conversions API integration when configured — not by logging purchases from the app client — to avoid double counting.

On iOS, we may ask for App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission after onboarding. Recording works whether you allow or deny tracking. If you allow, the advertising identifier (IDFA) may be used for attribution. If you deny, limited measurement may still occur without IDFA where permitted.

Purchases and RevenueCat

Sightline Pro is a one-time in-app purchase processed by Apple. We do not collect or store payment card numbers.

We use RevenueCat to verify purchase status and unlock Pro (unlimited Keeps). RevenueCat may receive purchase history linked to an anonymous app identifier so your unlock persists across reinstalls when you use Restore Purchases.

RevenueCat may also receive device and attribution identifiers (such as IDFV, optional IDFA when authorized, and a Meta anonymous id) to support purchase attribution integrations.

App Store privacy label

Apple's App Privacy label for Sightline discloses categories such as Purchase History, Product Interaction, and Device ID as applicable. Some identifiers may be used for tracking when you authorize ATT.

Children

Sightline is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of Sightline after changes means you accept the updated policy.
